  • Epik High to Reunite with Previous Agency

    Map The Soul's Epik High is to merge with their previous agency, Woolim Agency.

    On the 25th, the agency staff announced that the boys will reunite after their departure in 2008 to set up the independent label, Map The Soul. Despite this, both teams have kept in touch, receiving advice and help from time to time. They also emphasised that this does not mean the end but an upgrade for Map The Soul as they are to have management and marketing tactics from the agency.

    Woolim Entertainment is well known for having produced talented artists such as Nell and Jisun. They are currently focusing on Infinite, the new group of 7 boys, under the direction of Tablo and Mithra Jin.

    In addition, Epik High's future activities will be announced some time in February.

  • Planet Shiver's Digital Single to be released soon

    Planet Shiver of Map The Soul is to release a Digital Single on 9th December.

    Map The Soul has announced recently that the single is called Momentum and it consists of 6 songs of which 5 are different remixes of the title, Momentum. It also features amazing selection of artists such as Gaeko, Double K, Yankie, Dok2, MYK and T.

  • Epik High's Last Christmas Concert 2009

    Tablo has announced on his Map The Soul Blog that Epik High is preparing for the Christmas Concert after all.

    Epik High is on hiatus due to DJ Tukutz recently entering obligatory military service, which will last about two years. Because of this, the team's activity with the [e] album has been brief with no album or concert before Christmas. Despite this, Tablo has announced that after a long discussion with Mythra, they could not imagine Christmas away from their fans, so they are holding a concert on Christmas Eve. This is to be the last show at least for a couple of years.

    The confirmed guests include the entire Map The Soul family.

  • DJ Tukutz of Epik High Announces Big News

    DJ Tukutz of Epik High has announced 2 big news on Map The Soul blog.

    His announcement involves the entire band as their official activity is going to be on hold for a while.
    He is joining the Korean army, compulsory for Korean men, on 15th October.
    The other is that he has found his other half and they are to wed soon.

    Hello, everyone.
    This is Epik High's Tukutz.
    The Indie label, Map The Soul's Kim Jung-Sik (his Korean name).

    Are you guys enjoying the     [e] album?

    Since the release of the album, the most frequent question has been
    'Why all the sudden have you released such a massive album?'

    My answer is..
    I wanted to do something for the fans who have always been supportive of us.

    Unfortunately it is unlikely that we are going to be releasing another official album anytime soon.

    I am writing to announce 2 news. It is the first time writing on a serious note which makes me slightly nervous.

    I, Tukutz, Jung-sik is joining the Korean army on 15th October. Despite my desire to make more fun memories with the album we tried so hard to make.. time is not allowing me to do so.

    Apologis for not having announced this sooner. The rest of members and close relations knew about this but I told them to keep it low.

    It is just that I did not want to greet the fans whom I have not been with for a while with a good bye.

    The rest of members despite their individual busy schedules knew I wanted to make a brilliant album before leaving and therefore went through all nighters to create the album we have today. I am sure you guys understand this.

    Further more, before the army I have the best event in my life that is finally I am marrying my first love of ten years. The phrase we have promised each other, 'Stand by me' is finally coming true.

    You might think this is selfish but I am making a promise with the love of my life before leaving. I, Kim Jung-sik is getting married!

    Both of us have decided on this after a lot of thought and we will be grateful to receive your blessings! (We are going to think about children after my return from the army ^^)

    The rest of members promised to look after my family during my absence and to have a better future in 2 years time (Korean army lasts almost 2 years), I can leave with relief.

    To be honest, having a long absence from Map The Soul, I am worried for the participating artists and staff. Plus I am sorry for not having done much for them,

    but my brothers, Tablo, Mithra and Jin-wook promised to act on my behalf as well so MYK, Planet Shiver, Dok2 and all the staff... don't worry!

    Dear fans. You guys must have waited a long time for this official album so I apologise for having been around for a short time. I wanted to give you more songs but there has not been much opportunities.

    Although thank you very much for all the support. I am happy to leave you guys with a big laugh as he second title song's music video is going to released soon!

    The title song's performance has been short but the members want the World to hear out my song, the second title song...

    Thank you for thinking of me always. Whilst I am away, go sky high and let's remain as who we are forever!

    To the people who love our songs, I want to promise this.

    With my return, there will be greater music.

    Don't forget Epik High and please look after the lot on my behalf. ^^

    Until then I am going to do my best.

  • Epik High San Francisco Club Party

    SYNERGY SF are holding a Map the Soul World Tour after party on May 15th at the Fluid Ultra Lounge night club in San Francisco. Special guests include Epik High, Far East Movement, MYK and KERO ONE.

    You must be 21 to get into the club, and people 23 and over are preferred. There is a strict dress code of mature and professional attire, with no t-shirts and no tennis shoes. The event begins at 10pm, May 15th, and will end at 2am the following day.

    Tickets for Epik High's USA concerts have been selling fast, with tickets now completely sold out for the Seattle, New York and Los Angeles shows. Tickets for the San Francisco show on May 15th are still available, so if you want to see Epik High in the USA you'll need to be quick. You can buy tickets from CGN Live.

    Epik High will also be holding Meet & Greet sessions, so even if you aren't able to get to the concerts you may be able to attend the autograph signings. Sessions will be held at the following locations:

  • Epik High New York Concert Venue Change

    Due to popular demand, Epik High's Map the Soul World Tour New York concert, previously restricted to ages 18+ at the Hiro Ballroom venue, is now both open to all ages, and being moved to a new location. The concert will now be held at the Irving Plaza. The date and time remain the same.

    Tickets already purchased for the Hiro Ballroom venue will be accepted at Irving Plaza.

    Epik High have now released the venues for three of the four American cities they will be holding concerts at during their MAP THE SOUL WORLD TOUR 2009 with Kero One and MYK.

    On May 16th they will be at the House of Blues, Los Angeles. Doors open at 8pm, and all ages will be permitted. Tickets will be $30us.

    On May 22nd they will be at the Hiro Ballroom, New York. Doors open at 6pm, and the concert is restricted to age 18 and above. Tickets will be $35us.

    On May 23rd they will be at The King Cat Theater, Seattle. Doors open at 7pm, and all ages will be permitted. Tickets will be $25us.

    Although venues, times and ticket prices have not yet been released, it has been confirmed that Epik High, along with MYK and Kero One, will be taking their MAP THE SOUL WORLD TOUR 2009 to cities in Japan and the USA. The first destination will be Kobe, Japan, on April 26th, followed by Tokyo on April 28th. They will return to Korea for their Seoul concert on May 2nd, before going to the USA where they will hold concerts on May 15th in San Francisco, the 16th in Los Angeles, the 22nd in New York, and the 23rd in Seattle. Epik High have stated that further cities will be added to the tour.

    Venues, times and ticket details will be released when available.

    Last night Epik High uploaded the first of four parts of their LIVE FROM THE MAPLAB online showcase. The following three parts will be uploaded on the 6th, 7th and 8th of April. They will perform songs from their new album Map the Soul, and include rapper MYK and beatboxer Beatbox DG.

    English subtitles are also included for non-Korean fans.

  • 300,000 Fans Crash Epik High Website

    Epik High's website opened at 3:21 PM Korea time on March 21st, and available in both Korean and English the site was easily accessible to fans worldwide. But with more than 300,000 fans visiting the site as soon as it opened in hopes of pre-ordering Map the Soul, the server was unable to deal with so much traffic and the site was taken offline.

    It will be available again from March 23rd, and international fans will also be able to order Map the Soul through the website on this date.

    Epik High finally announced the release date for their new album Map The Soul. It will be released on March 27 and only available on their page mapthesoul.com. In a video on their YouTube channel you can also get a first glimpse of the bilingual book that comes with the album and preview teasers of the new songs.

    Hiphop trio Epik High recently updated their Twitter account to announce that they plan on performing in the US during April. Dates and venus are in the final stages of negotiations, but they hope to hold performances in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City.

    A little more information has also been released about their next album, which is due for release sometime this month. In a recent video on their YouTube channel, it was revealed that the album will also come with a book, which will be in both Korean and English.

    And making themselves more accessible to their Western fanbase online, you can now also find Epik High on Facebook.
