SKY-HI

Best known as the main rapper of pop unit AAA, Mitsuhiro Hidaka’s creative ambitions go far beyond that simple description. A passionate fan of hip-hop music, he honed his skills for several years by taking part in freestyle battles and collaborating with other artists before finally making his major debut as a solo rapper under the name SKY-HI in 2013.

While already a familiar face in J-pop circles, the combination of his pop idol looks, performance skills and charisma with the edgier sound of his solo work has allowed him to achieve success with a wide variety of audiences. In addition to writing his own lyrics, Hidaka also produces and composes some of his own music, as well as works for other artists.

In 2020, Hidaka established his own label/management company BMSG (short for "Be MySelf Group"), which is home to established artists such as rapper Novel Core as well as younger performers Hidaka is personally mentoring and producing, such as boy group BE:FIRST, which was formed from the winners of BMSG's first audition show "THE FIRST".
