In 2009, the famous Hello! Project (group of J-pop girlbands active under UP-FRONT agency and comprising Morning Musume among others) held auditions called "Tai Tōkyō Shōjo" in South Korea. More than 2,500 young girls auditioned, dreaming of joining Hello! Project.
During these auditions, producer Tsunku was captivated by young Dayeon Jang's exceptional personality and talent, and immediately saw her potential. She then took part in the Hello! Project winter tour as a Hello! Pro Egg, and is now waiting to make her debut with a group or as a solo idol.
