BoA's 24th Japanese single release proves that she remains the most successful Korean artist in Japan.
It's hard to believe that she has time for new releases what with her TV performances and upcoming concert tour.
This single was released in December of last year in two versions and contains a song which features Yukata Furukawa from DOPING PANDA. The CD+DVD version is the more interesting of the two as it contains 4 songs: LOSE YOUR MIND, Smile again and the instrumentals for both songs as well as a DVD with the clip of the main song from this single: LOSE YOUR MIND. On the second version, the track list is the same but the release does not come with the DVD.
This single gives the public two very different songs.
The first, LOSE YOUR MIND, is an up tempo song with an undeniably pop style, which combines various instruments to create a unique sound. From the very first note, we can hear the sounds of an electric guitar and BoA's smooth voice seems to be perfect for this kind of music. Drum, guitar, trumpets, electronic effects: there is nothing more that you need for a dance song. There is even a section of the song that is completely dedicated to the instruments, allowing the listener to hear an excellent musical display and to imagine a dance show from the artists. The appearance of the guitarist Futaka Furukawa from DOPING PANDA gives the song a pleasant touch of something new, as he shows us a demonstration of his undeniable musical talents.
This is then followed by Smile again, which is totally different. With violins, sweet voice and piano, the atmosphere of the song is like a nostalgic ballad. When the chorus begins, BoA's voice becomes more powerful, clearly stronger than at the beginning and her talents dont stop amazing us. The song finally ends on a perfect mix of violins and piano. For her 24th single, Kwon BoA doesnt fall into a stereotype or routine: not with her song or her video. The LOSE YOUR MIND video is full of very good effects and an excellent dance performance. We can only hope for a new release soon
Besides, her new single be with you. is now available and fans are more than happy to see BoA so active. She is currently touring in Japan with her BoA Concert Tour 2008 ~THE FACE~ tour, which contains 17 dates.
