My Destiny

Dong Bang Shin Ki

After the release of their previous Japanese single, Somebody to love, the famous Korean group TOHOSHINKI (DBSK) released their third Japanese single, My destiny, on November the 2nd 2005. This single showed a stark contrast with its predecessor. My Destiny was released in two versions:

-The first one contained a CD with 4 tracks (My destiny, Eternal, and 2 intrumentals), a DVD including the PV of My destiny and an interesting interview.
-The second one came without the DVD but with another song, My destiny Acapella version.

The first song, My Destiny, starts with a jazzy rythm as Jaejoong's sweet voice begins, followed by Changmin, Yunho and Yoochun. The music gives you an impression of mystery, like telling a story, but the voices accelerate progressively before the chorus (with Jaejoong and Junsu) who transport you into a smooth atmosphere. The rythm, neither slow like a ballad nor quick like a pop song, gives the song a very romantic effect without forgetting the five amazing voices of this well known Korean group.

By contrast, Eternal can be characterised as a ballad. It is slower and calmer, changing the atmosphere from that of My Destiny. Once again the song starts with Jaejoong's gentle voice, who is quickly joined by Junsu before the chorus where we can hear Jaejoong's voice again. After two and a half minutes, Junsu's voice gathers strength and the five voices of the group, in unison, give a nice "love song" effect.

Another advantage of the single is the My Destiny clip, which is punctuated by dance sequences and an interview with the group.
