A new idol boy band.
To celebrate the growing popularity of the Hallyu Wave, SBS organised a special casting for worldwide fans of K-pop known as the "Hallyu Olympics", in which 22 teams from countires like United States, Canada, Taiwan, Japan, South Africa, and South Korea competed in four categories: dancing, Hallyu stars impersonations/similarities, singing, and individual skills.
Canada was represented by a male group, ESQ (ESQUIRE), with the members: K9, Keunhwan, Kyle, Jihoo and Kyungmin, all Canadians of Korean ethnicity. The band performed a sample of their debut single, ESQ, as well as MBLAQ's Mona Lisa and BEAST's SOOM earning praise from MBLAQ, T-ara, miss A and 2AM.
The group's agency, Avance Entertainment, announced that the band will release their digital single MONSTER today, which will be the first single off their upcoming mini-album All Squires Day. It was also announced that IN THE CROWD will be the second song to be promoted from the mini-album.
