Big Bang is slowly climbing the ladder to fame in the world’s second largest music market, Japan.

Their first album, BIGBANG, ranked third on the weekly Oricon chart and the DVD Big Show placed fifth.

The band was planning several shows in Japan to promote their album, but their activities had to be postponed due to a car accident suffered by member Daesung, who has undergone a successful 4-hour operation on 19th August and will be discharged from the hospital this week.

Meanwhile, in Korea, both Big Bang and their female counterpart 2NE1 have been invited to take part on the Seoul concert of Global Gathering, an annual dance festival that has been running since 2001 and takes place in several countries like Ukraine, Poland, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Australia and the UK. Furthermore, Big Bang’s leader G-Dragon is doing very well with his first solo album, Heartbreaker, and plans to start promotions at SBS Inkigayo on August 30. You can check the first single official MV here:
